Had one of their calamari burritos.. really tasty and they give you alot too.. Of course you just paid $9 for a burrito... recommended when you get tired of Del Taco or Taco Bell.  Jalapenos still the best taco joint in Irvine (try the al pastor).. La Sirena, a little more fancier but still tasty.

+1 Love this place.

My favorite is their Avocado Lime Salad--simply awesome. High calorie salad but very tasty.

I've been there and I like it, but it's expensive and I am cheap so I don't go there often. I usually get the steak burrito. The steak is very good, but once I add in all my burrito necessities and a drink, my meal comes to $11ish and I can't justify that at a taqueria-type place. My sister used to rave about the El Segundo location, so I tried it when it opened in Irvine. Although now that ps9 has mentioned a calamari burrito, I might have to go check that out.

Recommend you eat the calamari burrito there.. it's crunchy fried and gets soggy if you get to go.  Great texture taste combo.. and of course I love squid.

Food is ok.  Agree with IHO, prices on the high side.  But they give good friendly service with nice choices of cuisine.  This place is too clean and safe to serve great Mexican at the proper price.  Not their fault, Irvine rent is insane.  El Toro blows away this place at half the cost, but of course you have to drive to Santa Ana.

I love me some La Sirena.  The one in El Segundo is actually quite different.  It has a different menu and feels like a more mid-cost restaurant.  La Sirena also has 2 locations in Laguna - one across PCH from the Montage, and the other downtown on Mermaid Ave.  The one on Mermaid is tiny - seating is only outside.

irvinehomeowner - usually you get some chips with your order.  I'm not sure what you ordered that didn't come with any.

They seem to always have a coupon on the Irvine Company website.

The current one is 10% off your order:http://www.shopneighborhoodcenters.com/coupons/print.aspx?ids=9304

I feel like a little man if I present a 10% coupon for a $9 order :)

thats right PS9 - a true big baller doesnt use coupons. im with you man. the other day i refused to use a 10% off coupon at home depot on a $350 purchase.

You passed on saving $35???  I'll tell my "inner man" to take a hike if I can save that much... that's good beer money your wasting

I think I'll stick with the calamari, got the asada the other day, while tasty, I don't like to see the "pink smear" on my tortillas.  I'll ask for well done next time.  Service is top notch, placed a phone order, show up and it seems they forgot about it.  The guy was quick though, took care of it fast, came out and bagged my salsa for me and threw in an extra bag of chips (sorry IHO).  Customer leaves happy, that's good customer service, ok to mess up but own up to it.

I was just kidding. I definitely used it. $35 is a couple of lunches.

Good to know, because I don't think our special OCD-based relationship could continue if you had a coupon in your possession and *chose* not to use it! That is just not compatible with my lifestyle!
