Gotta say... this latest cold snap is good ramen eating weather.

I find it strange my wife loves soups and pho... but not ramen.

Kohryu's ramen quality can be better, but it's a hit or miss depending on who's cooking.  Their chashu pork's quality has improved since last year.  Santouka advertises their pork heavily, which is of decent quality but they slice it and leave it out to dry.

Mentatsu has a better non-ramen menu, and I think the price is a little cheaper.  The best deal can be found at Kairakutei in Tustin, a quiet little mom & pop shop serving ramen until 10pm:

Also, those who enjoy the Japanese style ch?sh? made with pork belly might want to try the Korean dish bossam (??), which is steamed pork belly wrapped in napa:
