Last time I went to Glen Ivy (the location inside the Brea Mall), there were several women sans-clothing. Weird because I had called ahead of time and asked if it was clothing-optional. They said no. Maybe it's not their policy but that's what I saw when I got there.

This spa sounds great. I was surprised to read about "little kids" being there. Most spas I've been to have a minimum age limit. I believe it's usually 13 if I recall correctly. I've always heard small kids should be kept out of saunas or other drastic heat-inducing environments as their sweat glands are not developed like adults... not very safe.

I've never been to Korean spa & would have no idea how it's different from an American spa but this sounds fun. I see it got lots of good feedback.

I been to a hot springs sauna in Japan, it really is relaxing.  A couple rules for westerners, no bathing suits (only birthday), no access if you had diarrhea recently (this was actually posted, funny but true), and most important of all, you wash/shower before going in to the communal pool!  I believe Korean spa's are similar, kids, grandmas, old, young, etc.  it's a family thing.  I wonder how security is at these places or do they do background checks?

Please check out ispa. Same owners as beach spa in fullerton. They're hoping they can extend beyond koreans as patrons.

Fun almost fact...if the owner's son married his then girlfriend, she was supposed to work there as the hostess/greeter/face of the place. She was REALLY pretty and an additional reason for young/old guys to want to frequent. But since they broke up, you'll probably be greeted by the owner...sorry fellas.

i am really excited to try ispa...they dont seem to have a website thought.  anyone have their offerings that they can scan and post?  i went to something similar in shenzhen when i lived in hong kong...my wife and i would spend the day and get tons of treatments and relax like royalty before heading back to HK.  of course that only cost a $100 bucks or so for the whole day and imagine ispa will be much more

whats a good day to go?  dont want to go when its super crowded and dont really feel comfortable trying to relax with a bunch of little kids running around...

$25 admission fee.  if you want to get the 35 minute scub, it's additional $30 for women and i think $25 for men.
i got the $70 scrub/massage/facial pack/shampoo package. $25 admission was waived.  however, i think this is only available for women.

i went on a sunday around 8 pm and the place was very quite.  don't know how it is during the day.

kalbi - was that 4 different treatments or just 1 combined?

movingonup - tell your friends to get a website up already...

After some time, I figured out that my relationship with my wife would be much better if I started taking the initiative and make it a point to go to the spa along with her (willingly) rather than having to be dragged there.
It may be worth a try  :)
