We rent from a private landlord and he agreed to let us bring a small dog in with no extra deposit or rent. We had already lived there and been good tenants for a while beforehand, so that obviously played a huge part in it.
At IAC, to have a dog (there are certain weight limits that vary upon location), it is an additional $50 per month AND an additional $750 security deposit. Also, they say that they do scan the carpets and replace EVERYTHING if they find any urine stains.
Rent an apartment from IAC that allows dogs. Avoid talking about pets when you sign your lease. This way you will not have to pay the extra 50 bucks a month or the extra deposit!
Thanks for the responses... I will never rent from IAC but I was curious what private landlords require for a 2500 +sg ft house ,Class A in a good neighborhood (Quail, turtle ridge,newport,etc)....
Private landlords will require a large deposit. Plus you have to worry about the owner being foreclosed on, upkeeping the unit, etc. With IAC you don't have to worry about anything.
I still havent sold my house, still havent been really motivated to sell... still not sure if it is worth the hassle... Maybe I should actually advertise it... But yes I have been debating to sell for quite sometime and have been busy with other items to actually get it done...
When I first read the title to this thread I was thinking that it might be hard because most People take their pets with them before they rent the House out...
