Irvine's special park

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
Went there today... It'll take you literally 5 minutes to walk the park. Well unless you venture off the trails... Be aware of bees!! There was a swarm of them and we were stuck waiting it out by some benches as they were blocking the entrance/exit. :'(

Almost went there today.....So not worth the venture?  I asked my kid today if she wants the park with the view or the park with the castle, guess which one she picked.  When your kid gets older, castle park (Northwood community park) is pretty cool,  the rocks are a little scary, and the castle needs a better 2nd exit (saw a little girl jump off the pole exit which is about 6-7 feet high into sand :-\).

OMG bees!  I'm gonna have to talk to the city about this... Totally unacceptable :)

The views are ok but the park isn't really a park.

There's 4 picnic benches to eat at but there aren't any views from the benches.  There are trees and a hill that block your million dollar view.  You walk down a single path and loop around a few seats and you head back the same way you came.  You can venture up a few trails and have a view of the shady canyon properties.  I wouldn't recommend it for kids... Pretty steep hill

The bees are in the trees you will be picnicking next to.  There's a huge hive we passed by and didn't notice until walking back.

Save your time and gas.

I you want a park with a view and a kid friendly trail to the top, check out Citrus Ranch Park in Tustin Ranch at the corner of Portola and Jamboree.  It opened in 2010. There is also a nice playground at the bottom of the hill.

There is no toxic plume though... so he can't really mention it either...
