That's how they are able to give a raise. Otherwise facility improvements would have to be paid for with funds diverted from instruction and educational programs.

Since you brought it up. If all is good, then they should stop asking for classroom donations.

The whole "classroom missing doors" was just a way to get more voter approval I think. But I'm all for it. With the way Irvine prices are going, I highly doubt any teacher makes enough to afford an Irvine home. And the schools are what make the prices stay high so we should pay them.
I have classmates who are teachers and their dream is to be a IUSD teacher and many of them are forced to work in LA first in hopes of a IUSD teacher retiring. I would hope they get paid at least $60k..but somewhere in the $70-75k makes more sense...maybe a bit more for those teachers involved in the GATE/accelerated classes
