IPR is having an anniversary event where they are rolling back ticket prices and train rides to their 1996 prices. Two bucks a pop.

Sat., Feb. 21 & Sun., Feb. 22
10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Face-painting, bounce house, concessions, panning for gold, etc.

I had just been thinking about IPR when I got their email notification. It's a beautiful park. One of my favorite. Love spending time there. I will probably be going sometime over the long President's Day weekend to do the paddle boats and deuce coupes.

Here are some coupons for IRP. Click the image below to open a PDF in a new window where you can print it.

Are any dead people/ashes buried at Irvine Regional Park? :)

Not sure about Irvine regional park, but try looking for park benches with people's names on them.  Most national parks also permit scattering of ashes, for example:http://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/ashes.htm

Tanabe also offers ash scattering by aircraft:http://www.ajourneywithwings.com/locations/

The closest would be Santa Ana mountains or Saddleback next to Irvine.  For a few hundred dollars you can have them scatter the ashes out of an airplane at 4,000 ft.  With the right wind conditions your ashes might um...

first I thought this must be pretty rare that SoCal posts something positive about Irvine. Then I realized Irvine Regional Park is not in Irvine.

Um. Who do you think created Talk Irvine? If it wasn't for me, you wouldn't even have a place to post right now.  :o

That information seems pretty detailed, Momo. Shall I take it to you mean you have been a customer? Good to know for future reference.

Naw, but did know someone who really, really wanted her ashes spread over Disneyland, and this was the closest option (assuming wind conditions were favorable).  More likely, the wind prolly scattered the ashes all over Irvine.

It was a perfect weather weekend at IRP and pretty darn crowded! I can only imagine what the anniversary event will be like next weekend. Be prepared for long lines. Bring sunscreen. I didn't think of it... went on the paddleboats for only 30 minutes and turned red. But then again, I burn under a full moon.  :P

If you print out those coupons, I recommend printing multiple sheets! As many as your group will need since the limit is 1 coupon per person. Somehow, we overlooked that.
