irvine model home floor colors

I've noticed all the Irvine model homes have light colored hardwood flooring. The more I see them the more I'm getting used to them. But just wondering if people like these colors. Because when I got my house in 10 years ago it was darker wood floor colors. Wonder if these light colored wood flooring is too trendy?

I still prefer the weathered look on wide 6 inch dark boards

I think 15 years ago... lighter color was the trend, then it flipped to dark.

The reason IP is probably using light is to make the rooms feel bigger (because we know they are not).

I prefer the darker woods because they hide dirt better. :/

I don't mind the color of the floor, but I do like the "fake wood" tile though.  The near appearance of wood, but with the durability of tile.

I did see one house in The Grove at Lambert Ranch that had newspaper tile in the laundry room.  That was pretty interesting.

I also like the wood looking tile... easier to clean and maintain.
