<blockquote>The Obama administration said today federal and state agencies are coordinating efforts to stop swindlers who prey on people in jeopardy of losing their homes.



As part of the effort, the Federal Trade Commission announced five legal actions against alleged perpetrators of mortgage-related scams, including Irvine-based Federal Loan Modification Law Center. The FTC accused the company of charging up-front fees of $1,000 to $3,000 for help getting a loan modification, but often fails to get the modification.</blockquote>
