Irvine is safest big city again

The city topped the list of safe cities of its size, up from third last year, and overall was ranked as the safest city in the nation with a population larger than 100,000.

Grain of salt:

However, the FBI and other law enforcement agencies warn against using crime rankings because they do not take into account factors such as population density and composition, climate, and economic conditions that affect crime levels.

And for cities of any size... Irvine is pretty safe:

Irvine's overall score increased by almost 7 points this year, bumping it up from the 10th to the sixth safest city with any population.

Is it the "good schools"?

The comments on that "polite crime" article are interesting... someone even referenced the Chick-Fil-A incident.
