Hi housing folks! For those who got Irvine house raffle tickets, I just wanted to let you know that I'll be doing live updates from the drawing starting at 4 p.m. on Saturday. ...and I've also posted a list of the 60 prizes.



I just wanted to pass the word along because I'd like for people who might want these updates to know about this, and I'd appreciate it if you could let others know too. I'm just planning to have a list of prizes online and to fill out names next to them as they're announced, but if you have other ideas of coverage that you'd like to see, just let me know at ctran@ocregister.com. Will you have a booth or be incognito? I'll be there; just not sure yet if I'll be wearing my IHB shirt...however when I win the house I'll out myself by telling everyone I'm part of the IHB!

No booth for me--at least not that I'm aware of! But I'll probably be one of the few (maybe the only one?) around with a laptop. Say hello! :)

So, I did end up with somewhat of a "booth" after all, if a table under some shade counts! I hope some of you found the live updates to be helpful. Man... I was hoping to see and read that our very own ISM at IHB had won the [strike]house[/strike] cash, but at least a <a href="http://www.ocregister.com/articles/house-irvine-raffle-2120134-school-ticket">heart felt story of a person won</a>.



<em>Donna Palella Johnston, 53, cried as her two friends screamed and grabbed her arms to help pull her up.



?I feel like I'm going to faint,? she told them.



The account coordinator at The Eleven Agency in Irvine won a new house, or $600,000 cash ? her choice.



?Is it OK to decide later??



Yes, it was, officials told her ? and she could fully concentrate on walking and breathing in the meantime.



The crowd of about 500 had their eyes on her and cheered while photographers captured the moment at Woodbury Elementary School.



?I don't look that great,? Johnston told them. ?I was cleaning all day.?



But she was definitely feeling great.



?I felt like I was dreaming. I thought I was imagining my name,? she said.



Her sons wondered the same thing, asking her several times on the phone if she was sure that it was her name. But once she heard her middle name announced, she knew that was it.



The winning raffle ticket was purchased as a gift in her name by her parents. </em>



At least she will think about it.



Thank you catherz for posting the info here, I, along with probably many others may have missed the stories of the raffle. So, thank you for that and I hope for the next raffle you post about it sooner. It would be too funny if an IHBer actually won.

You and me both, graph! I was there and, as usual, didn't even win a lousy pair of sunglasses. :coolgrin:
