It's part of Portola Springs.

Did anybody else notice that they razed those mini cliffs that used to be part of that site? If anything they should've kept those..they were a natural viewpoint and could've been a selling point for that part of the community.

Also very strange they've recently (within the last 1-2 weeks) unloaded hundreds, and I mean hundreds of large trees (36" box and larger) on this side of the street further down Irvine Blvd - across the street from Portola HS location.  I suppose these could be for Portola High but why on earth wouldn't they park them on the correct side of the street, there's plenty of open land there.

If they are for the school, I bet taxpayers spent $500k+ just on those trees.

If you're referring to the trees I think you're referring to, I think that's a lot that belongs to Instant Jungle. Speculating here, but I wouldn't necessarily think that they've been brought in for either the homes that are going to be built or for the high school. I think those are just overflow from Instant Jungle. That's my guess at least.

They should have built a shopping center on that area.  But why would TIC do it, it will just benefit and increase the value of PP and future great park neighborhood and could actually be detrimental to their own future projects.

If you read the link, there's a proposed 5P retail project directly adjacent to the site.  So there will be retail in that area.

what link?

2nd post?  I read it when it was posted. Looks like the link gives you an error now.

I just found the document disclosing what's going to be there and they're all going to be affordable housing units. Not sure if that was discussed before. I thought they were going to be IAC apartments.

affordable housing right next to multi million dollar homes of PP and BP :) Not a bad idea lol

IC is trying to build tons of apartments around Irvine.  Nice to know they have our best interests.  lol

as long as there is enough demand in Irvine, it should be fine.

These are some of the new apartment complexes i am aware of

Close to district
New Cypress village
Irvine blvd/ Modjeska?

Hope so, I'm getting tired of the food options in Woodbury. I hope there's going to be an In-N-Out..lol

But it also makes sense to provide food options within walking distance to the new HS, since walking to Woodbury from the new HS isn't really feasible.

8 minutes from Woodbury is In-N-Out Foothill Ranch and it's a lot less congested than the Tustin location.

Just Sayin'
