Indian community prepared food?

So I've been a vegetarian for about a year now and loving it. So now that I've gotten used to the diet, it's time to bulk back up again and add some strength and muscle back to my lanky frame.

One thing I've found is that so far Indian places have the best options for me for awesome high protein veggie meals. Americanized Mexican places too are always good since they have a veggie option available.

A transplant from the Bay Area recently started working with us, and mentioned that in the Indian community there are places you can go to get prepared food for the week, that it's reasonable price and convenient, so you can just heat something up when you get home. That's also a great option for me since my hours are all over the place.

Has anyone heard of this? I have asked around, since I work in IT, there are alot of Indian transplants here, but most of them are married so they no longer need this type of service or know where to go to get it, as usually they have someone in the home cooking for them.

If anyone has any tips let me know. I can cook but willing to pay for the luxury of being lazy in this area of life lol.

I was given a few sites to check but haven't found anything. Usually it seems like you have to know someone who knows someone type of thing.

This is the service my friends use....it's not that cheap... www.PoojaCatering.com

A lot of Indian restaurants offer daily food service for a discounted rate...it's not advertised but just talk to a manager.  I believe annaprasana offers this...

Thanks rkp ! Really appreciated. When I ask my Indian buddies (and I've asked a bunch of them), they say this is more common up north in the bay area. Most of them have their wives cook which is what I think SoCal78 was referring too haha. I think that I will ask around the restaurants also in addition to checking out your links.

SoCal78 that's a scary proposition for me but different strokes for different folks lol, I just got out of a long term committment so want to be on my own for a while. But then again you can never plan these things they just sort of happen haha.

I don't have a problem preparing my own food but felt like I've gotten to a place in life where I can spoil myself and take it easy, I've worked really hard for that and plus am really liking these Indian dishes as being a big meat eater in the past, I overlooked them so they are delicious and new to me.

I've been browsing the help-wanted ads on Craigslist and have noticed several wanting domestic aid including cooking. If you have the resources, one option may be to seek out someone to come and prepare those meals for you every so often. For example, I recently read an ad where they were looking for a Chinese woman to come prepare very specific regional cuisine for the family in addition to some other tasks. I wonder if you could place an ad like that looking for a person who can create exactly what you want. Then it would already be at your home ready and waiting for you. Just a thought. (A bonus could be the person takes care of other tasks for you as well, since you mentioned you are single.)

our other friends did what socal78 suggested.  they have an indian cook that comes every sunday and makes a weeks worth of dishes but not fully cooked, like maybe 80% cooked.  she does the cutting and prep work, makes the base sauces and curries, and other stuff.  then my friends just have to drop in the items together and voila, 10-15 min later they have their dish and very little cleanup.

i think they found her through CL but will check with them.  the problem is that they have to pick her up and drop her off.

Well since my search I just found a bunch of slow cooker recipes, seems Indian food works really well in there. Some of these recipes literally take 15-30 minutes and BOOM 6 servings which can be stored for later use. So I tried it out past couple of weeks and have enjoyed it so far. It even works for lazy people like me lol.
