IHB Feedback

I had a chance to meet up Zovall over the weekend and really enjoyed talking with him. You would never imagine for someone would started such an amazing blog like IHB to be so humble, soft spoken, and personable. I had an opportunity to give him some feedback of my ideas and some cool functions and features on a blog that my wife visits every day. Even til this day, I am absolutely amazed how a simple blog like IHB can potentially connect a community of people of an entire city. Sometimes I wonder if Zoval himself knows how much this blog has changed the lives of many of us. I really like many of the stuff that Socal, Tmare, and Roundcorners posts that gives a sense of a caring community here.

I wanted to open this thread to the members here for some feedback to Zovall and IrvineRenter of what is working well, what other type of things the members would like to see here, and even things that may need improvement here.

One thing that is important to me is not putting others down, and respecting and admiring every individual here.

Thanks, Panda. What sort of functions and features are you thinking would be useful here (like the site your wife visits)?

Socal, so you had to turn the question around to me huh? :) The blog my wife visits daily is a coupon blog where women share the some of the best deals they have found and posts up various coupons. It has become much more than that to her, but an authentic caring community. They have a level system where a new member will start out like a seed and grow up to a flower with different accesses to the blog just like we have a newbie all the way up to custom estate. For example, there can be an exclusive forum ?Advanced Real Estate Investing? section where only ?McMansions? and ?Custom Estates? can participate in. This will also allow the newbies and starters homes to be motivated to contribute more content to get more access to the site. The moderator is also more strict on members putting down another member in the blog. SoCal, I think you would be a great moderator for something like that. We all come here for real estate information, but I also know that many are here for the community aspect that IHB offers.

I still want the previous feature before the blog software was upgraded where i could click on a topic and it would take me to the last posting that was made. Now i have to scroll down the page to see where i left off and where the new posts start.

That feature is on my To Do list because I want it, too. Currently working on upgrades to the Thanks button, but having technical issues. Don't hold your breath, but I'm working on it.

Is that feature different from the one where you click on the thread title under the "Latest Post Info" column and it automatically takes you to the most recent post made?

I appreciated the feature of the old software where it "remembered" the last post (on a page) you read in a thread, so it would know which new post to take you to when you clicked on the thread title.

Most forum software cookies in threads that you've visited so that it knows where it was you last left off when you read a thread, so when you return it can tell you if there are new posts since you last read it and also take you to the newest unread post of that thread.

At least the email notification works, I hate forums that can't tell you when someone has responded to a thread you were reading/posting in.

So PANDA was in SoCal last weekend and he didn't tell anyone beforehand? My feelings are hurt.

Reason, unfortunately www.missycoupons.com is a korean site, so you probably can't join the community unless you know how to speak and write in korean. There is a section where you can click on "ABC" English and you can select any store to see what coupons they are offering. For example if you are looking for coupons for Aveda select "A" and will find a list of all the links of "coupons offered by Aveda" that missycoupon members have posted up. If you are looking for coupons in Nordstroms you would select "N". I always look for the 40% OFF Border's Coupons and try to buy a lot of books all at once. The site is free just like IHB. Hope this helps.

For example, this is a coupon link i found on the site offering buy one beverage and get the second one free inside any Borders.

You don't need Korean skills to save mad money. Try some of my favorite picks:

<a href="http://www.spoofee.com">Spoofee</a>

<a href="http://dealspl.us/">DealsPlus+</a>

<a href="http://www.woot.com">W00T</a>

<a href="http://www.fatwallet.com/">Fatwallet</a>

I find this useful to saving money:
