I was checking out Google map for Alderwood site where William Lyon is planning to build SFRs and noticed that there is high voltage power line running along Sand Canyon.  From my estimation, it's about 1000 ft from power line to Alderwood site.  Would you feel comfortable living this close to high voltage power line?

don't get me started...

For the same distance, I'd rather live close to powerline, followed by freeway/toll road, and lastly landfill.
In fact I'd rather live in Santa Ana and send my kids to private school over living very close to a landfill.

I would be careful with that... there are places in Santa Ana that are more immediately life threatening than a landfill.

well, of course medically there is no known risk.

physically, the effect will be reduced exponentially relative to the distance away.

but for resale, the only thing that counts is do you see them out your window

The buzzing noise disturbs me. If I couldn't hear the buzzing noise (and no, I not talking about ear plugs) then that would be more acceptable.

When I lived in an apartment while in college there were power lines running near my bedroom window.  When it was foggy or misty out, the power line buzzing (and popping) was 10X louder than on a dry summer night.  Actually if you watch the movie Jackie Brown by Quentin Tarantino, you can hear the power lines buzzing in the background in the scene in front of her apartment when they are walking up to it.
