how can a buyer get comparable prices for a new community?

You could get a list of addresses of the same model for the neighborhood and then check the assessor's website to see what the roll value is. I did then when we were looking in Columbus Grove...

<p>Columbus Grove is on sale now. Lots of recent NODs on places there. Couple of Westbourne and Cantara places recently popped up on MLS. There is going to be a high level of distress there in coming months. Closing a big house in 2006 and early 2007 in CG might be the worst possible thing for people. In a buyers market, people are going to shy away from CG as they can get discounted prices in more favorable/premium areas.</p>
