Homeless in Irvine

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
Last Saturday afternoon, the fam and I were heading over to Turtle Ridge to see a few open houses. Right on Culver and the street that connects to the Central Park Gate of NP and that soccer field, I saw a homeless man heading north on Culver.

It was such a shock. It was the first time I've ever seen a homeless person in Irvine.

Is it true that IPD picks them up and drives them over to Santa Ana?

I saw who you are talking about. I was making a left onto Culver from Irvine Blvd. and all of a sudden the cars in front of me stopped in the intersection. I was waiting behind those cars in the middle of the intersection for about 5-10 seconds. I couldn't see around the SUV's in front of me but when we finally got to go it urns out it was the homeles guy crossing the street. I guess he kept going down Irvine Blvd and thats where you saw him. Not sure where he would have been coming from though. Maybe from Sierra Vista?

He is the infamous Jeffrey Open Space Hobo:

Nice, I wonder if he checks IHB often. I think he was carrying an iphone.

His name is bksHOBOpr

[quote author="GOTTI" date=1225175954]I thinking he came from off the 5 or one of the biking/running trails for straight from Tustin via Irvine Blvd.</blockquote>

I'm not sure, but where I saw him, he was crossing the street going from the Northwood side of Culver to the Northpark side of Culver....so heading towards Tustin.

I saw a homeless man walking down Jeffrey last year near Trabuco Center shopping center. The cops were talking to him a minute later. Was he the Open Space trail hobo?

I can't remember the last time I heard the word hobo by the way... I think you need to carry your lunch in a bandana tied to a stick to be a hobo.

LOL. Am I the only person who uses the word "hobo"? I guess so. I also say "ice box" and I guess that's outdated too.

My hobo was male, Caucasian (with a dark tan and many wrinkles), I'm guessing around late 50's, maybe a bit on the tall side, scraggly hair, and thin but not terribly frail. He was wearing a coat. He shuffles along. Did this look like your hobo?

Damn... That is a spot on description of who I saw. His beard was pretty matted. I thought I was back in NYC for a flash.

P.S. I refer to the fridge as an icebox as well.

Maybe we should chip in and get him one of these.

I'm sure he would appreciate the thought and then we can know for sure that's our guy.

That is a nice marketing scheme. He got more attention than the $million marketing campaign many developers spent on PR.
