Most buffets are hit and miss and also depends on what you like. I wish there was Chinese buffet closer to Irvine (there are two in Lake Forest and one in Tustin). Eating Mongolian BBQ last week reminded me of this place that was a Japanese seafood buffet but also served hot food and Mongolian BBQ.
We hadn't been there in a few years and decided to try again last weekend. I'm not a seafood or sushi fan (neither are the kids) but the Mrs. loves it and there was enough there for all of us. On top of the seafood and sushi, they also had a small selection of dim sum, chinese food, desserts, fruits and a Mongolian BBQ bar.
It was okay... dinner was $19 for adults, $8.50 for kids... it's cheaper at lunch but I don't remember how much. This is in Newport Beach but near Irvine/John Wayne (around the corner is Benihana). Probably won't eat there for another few years.
The pictures are not from me... they are from Yelp.
