Most buffets are hit and miss and also depends on what you like. I wish there was Chinese buffet closer to Irvine (there are two in Lake Forest and one in Tustin). Eating Mongolian BBQ last week reminded me of this place that was a Japanese seafood buffet but also served hot food and Mongolian BBQ.

We hadn't been there in a few years and decided to try again last weekend. I'm not a seafood or sushi fan (neither are the kids) but the Mrs. loves it and there was enough there for all of us. On top of the seafood and sushi, they also had a small selection of dim sum, chinese food, desserts, fruits and a Mongolian BBQ bar.

It was okay... dinner was $19 for adults, $8.50 for kids... it's cheaper at lunch but I don't remember how much. This is in Newport Beach but near Irvine/John Wayne (around the corner is Benihana). Probably won't eat there for another few years.

The pictures are not from me... they are from Yelp.

A good buffet is an oxymoron, might start off well but within a year it will cut back on quality or raise price.  Hokkaido is one such buffet, started off well but then quality tanked since there isn't much competition in the area.  I remember getting some lobster/shrimp thingy and half of it was cooked and half was raw.  Never went back.

Ever been to Aria and Bellagios buffet? If you have been and would not go back then I have lost respect for your taste buds lol

Nope, never had the buffets over at those Vegas casinos.  But then again, I'm just not a big buffet kind of guy so I wouldn't go there until I was with someone who insisted on going.

Yeah... every time we go... the wife HAS to have Bellagio buffet.

I can get by with Circus Circus or Surf City (I forgot the name of that really cheap buffet).
