Have you been to the real Hollywood?

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
Hollywoodland is a promotional device for the real estate developer, right?

I don't consider the sign as part of our heritage. It is just like any man-made structure. But if you mean the Hollywood, then it is sad to hear that anyone consider that as his/her heritage.

it was put up there by a housing developer as a billboard if you will. over time it became rundown and fell apart. the city took it over, i think? and during the restoration removed the LAND. in the movie the rocketeer (very underrated, imo), timothy dalton falls out of a plane and crashes into the sign, destroying the LAND.

Ibers are too smart. Hollywood is not a city it is still a part of LA. It has no city hall just a chamber of commerce. There is a concrete at the base of the sign but no concrete path leading up to it.

i believe the original sign used to light up. it doesnt light up anymore because the chamber wasn't interested in supporting the cost of lighting.

btw, more of these socal trivia pls!
