Does anyone know if the courthouse has a cafeteria inside of it? I have to serve jury duty today. I tried checking their site. No luck.

Don't know, but across the street is a Starbucks, Winerschnitzel, and some kind of burger and pizza place.

Soylent Red has jury duty there next week as well. OC must have data mined eligible jury Members in the foothill communities recently.

I'm here now. Yup, no cafeteria. Just a vending machine in the jury assembly room that they don't make change for. At least this facility is so much nicer and easier than the Santa Ana courthouse. I was the first juror here because I left super early, expecting it to be like the other place.

I can discuss it as soon as we reach a verdict. Tomorrow at the earliest. Friday at the latest.  :-X

Please pass on the message to Soylent Red that I highly advise bringing a warm jacket. The courts are running the air conditioners even though it's cold and rainy. We're all uncomfortable, some are suffering. The court told us they do it on purpose to help keep everyone awake.  >:(  :'(

Ok, we were able to reach a verdict yesterday. Luckily, it was a short case.

Drug bust in Irvine. Meth, heroin (among other things) and a bunch of drug paraphernalia.

Guilty on all charges. The vote was unanimous.

I've done my part to help keep the streets of Irvine clean for today.

Saul must have had an off day......

Thx for your jury service. I hope more people try to serve as the system fails without sensible jurors available en mass.

I think it's interesting how many people I talked to who are much older / have many more years behind them, had never been selected as a juror in their life. Meanwhile, I've been selected 100% of the time that I've reported for duty and I'm half their age. Weird. There was even a 92 year old vet there who had never been selected. Thankfully they didn't select him. He was falling asleep during Voir Dire! lol. Poor guy.

I've been called several times but I NEVER get picked. I think they don't like nurses who in general are anti law suit.

There's always hope for a criminal trial.
