Crowded, crowded, and more crowds, a line getting in to park, a ridiculous line for the food trucks, a crazy line for the carousel.  Got cold fast when the fog rolled in (reminded me of my SF days).  But it was a memorable New Years Eve instead of the usual staying warm in our boring cozy warm house watching Ryan and Dick in NY.

These dogs took an hour to get.... Totally not worth it...but the other trucks ran out of food and the lines were even longer.  Food trucks are a joke when venue gets too big like tonight, too slow and inefficient.

It was too dark in the park, needed more lights.  Music was ok, needed better fireworks (went off at 9:01pm?).  Hopefully next year will be better, good idea for a family event but they were overwhelmed quick when the crowds peaked.

Actually used my car's seat warmer on the way home...

You couldn't pay me to go to this event. Ever since I attended the snow thing at the Great Park--which featured a tiny patch of "real" snow jammed with 3492730947 people--I have steered clear of all events at the Great Park. I hate crowds. If I'm going to have to deal with crowds, I'll do something cool like go to Times Square...not wait in line for food trucks in Irvine.

I think this one was bound to be especially horrible because there are so few family-friendly New Year's Events.

I actually almost tried the Viking Truck at the OC Food Truck Fare on Thursday, but I instead opted for The Greasy Wiener, because they have chili cheese fries and not just tater tots (which are apparently trendy among food trucks these days).

We were there for an hour. It was good fun for kids.
Didn't eat there- too long lines! We went out for dinner later.
Fog last night- yes! Reminded me of SF too.. it would have been more fun if the night was clear, and little warm like the day.
