While I enjoy my den/kitchen/nook/dining/living/family/1 bedroom setup in my house, a bigger kitchen in the new floorplans does appeal to me, especially when guests are over and everyone crowds into the kitchen.

i have a straight shot of the 70inch from anywhere in the kitchen, even though we do have the downstairs bedroom and formal living room, i wish we had one more room such as an office/den

the pros and cons of one great room with your kitchen/living room.  You can't hear the TV when someone is cooking.. but.. easier to watch on the big screen when you are eating.  We don't have a coffee table either (for now) for the young ones.

You don't use the downstairs bedroom as an office/den? That's what we've done in every house we've lived in.

We have a bed in there and all of my clothes are in that closet. I use the bathroom in the downstairs bedroom to get ready in the morning and the dogs hang out on the bed. We have a desk in the loft as well as a couch and tv. So the office is upstairs. We have an upstairs bedroom with its own bath for guests.

It's interesting that "Great Room plus Additional Flex" has 7 votes considering that most of the new Irvine builds don't have that other than some PP models.

Oh, guys and TV.  If my husband has his way he would have one in every room.  I guess 4 TVs for a household of 4 is not enough.  Now we need a 60" one because our 46" is too small (he said of course).

60 is now too small.. got go 70 +

I live the ultimate man tv room:  two TVs at right angles to each other (different walls) in the family room.  :)

I can watch NBA and HGTV at the same time.

My hero.

I suggested that for our family room but was struck down.
