Good fireworks shows for July 4th?

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
North, central or south Irvine?

I think there are 2 Irvine shows, Northwood Heritage Park and Woodbridge.

EDIT: Heritage Park is more accurate than Northwood.

I'm moving to Cypress Village, so I presume that's more central.
Woodbridge does a great one over the Lake. Their is also one put on by the police and firefighters (maybe it is just one of them and not both) that is at Irvine High. You have to buy tickets to go inside the stadium but I think they play music and have a band inside and then shoot the fireworks off. Have never actually seen that one from inside the stadium but a few years back, they lit the trees on fire and had to cancel it but I've watched it plenty of times from outside the stadium and it is very nice (the one at Woodbridge is free and great...bring some lawn chairs and sit out on the south lake and enjoy (I presume that is where they still do it).

A head's up for anyone thinking about getting tickets for the July 4th Spectacular @ Irvine Amphitheater. Since I went to the concert and show last year, the Pacific Symphony Orchestra has not stopped barraging me with fundraising phone calls and mailers. It got so bad I've been getting calls multiple times a day on top of recordings! All in the same day. It made me sorry I ever went. The other day I called them back to tell them to stop bugging me. But nobody would pick up at the marketing office so all I could do is leave a message. I told them to please lose my number. So, be forewarned: Expect to be harassed!

How did they get your number?  Use fake digits.

Last year I went to the top of the Spectrum parking structure near Nordstrom's waiting for the fireworks at the Amphitheater.  Waited at 9pm and still nothing at 10pm.  A bunch of us were there shaking our heads, what a bust.

Purchasing the tickets through their website. P.S.O. requires setting up an account, with address, phone, and CC information. I gave a legit phone number in case they needed to reach me while the order was being processed. (They have 3 methods of ticket delivery: Will Call, mail, or e-mail) and to receive notification in case there was any change to the event we were about to attend, including last-minute changes with regard to fireworks or parking / etc. I paid a lot for good seats, wanted to be kept informed. They book up pretty fast. Just like Ticketmaster where you only have so many minutes to book before the session expires, the seats are thrown back into the available pile, and the seating arrangements change. Didn't want to take any chances that time. I left the account intact because I was considering attending more events in the future. Yeah, I went into the account recently and falsified the digits. Prior to that, I had completely forgotten about creating an account. I had thought I had checked out without needing to register. Hopefully the fake changes will make their way over to the marketing department!

I was there. It was a good display. Maybe the viewing angle was off or the time.

What are the crowds like for the Woodbridge one?  How early do you have to get there?
You can go really anywhere in the South Lake area for a good view, most gather at the bottom of the south lake since they fire from the drain off basin.

When we lived there, we just sat in our front lawn.

People start putting out blankets/chairs early (I've seen some out in the morning)... but there is quite a bit of space.

Here's the info for the 4th of July fireworks at Irvine HS.  Never been, except for 1 year we went cheap and sat on the curb on Walnut (pre-kids).  So not sure if it's worth it to pay unless they got some good food setups.  Fireworks were not memorable.

Seems a bit pricey for 4 adults and 3 kids for $70. At $10 per adult and $5 per kid,  I'd probably check it out.

This too will be our first 4th of July in Irvine. ....we bought a home in Mandeville in West Irvine and we're thinking of just staying home and barbequing with friends.. Does anyone know if you can see any of the fireworks shows just from our yard or anywhere within walking distance? Sorry if its a silly question!

..we used to live in Newport right on a hill so it was so nice/convenient for us to just walk outside and see the fireworks. Im hoping we'll be able to do the same in this home.. no biggie if we have to watch on TV.

Celebrate our freedom on July Fourth and remember as Chen says: ?Don't let others twists the truth ? Tell them you love the veterans, but Great Park is no place for veterans cemetery.?     :D    And Ding says: ?We respect our veterans since they contributed their loyalty to our great country and protected our freedom and peace.?     8)

Welcome to our USA newbie-NIMBYs. This is truly the greatest.
