It's a shame that he didn't show this kind of heart during the campaign.

I don't remember Frasier having a southern drawl...

He's an actor, an actor. People voted for his persona in his roles. These are the same people who vote John Wayne as our greatest military hero when the guy never served a darned day in the military.

[quote author="skek" date=1225714552]Before he was an actor, Fred Thompson was an AUSA, campaign manager for Howard Baker's campaign, minority counsel on the Watergate investigation, special counsel to two Senate committees and a member of the advisory committee on appellate court nominations. As a private lawyer, he sued the incumbent Democrat governor for wrongful termination on behalf of a client, exposing a bribery scandal that resulted in the Governor's resignation. They made a TV movie from the case and he was offered the chance to play himself. His acting career took off after that. So, he's a little more qualified than just "an actor." Al Franken is the unqualified actor you are thinking of.</blockquote>

Dude... how could you ever say that <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stuart_Smalley">Stuart Smalley</a> is unqualified? Come on Skekker... his motto alone makes him qualified <em>"You're Good Enough, You're Smart Enough, and Doggone It, People Like You"</em>. I mean, that has worked for the last 8 years, so why can't it work in the Senate?

Sadly, it probably would work in the Senate...</blockquote>

As a former Nevada resident I can tell you, from personal experience, you just decribed Harry Reid.

Heh, you guys are probably right. At least they didn't screw up the motto like Dodd and Frank did... "You're not good enough, you're not smart enough, and doggone, no one likes you."
