You guys interested in starting a floorplan record keeping project?  I have a bunch of old brochures that I can scan/pdf.  Or does someone have a better idea?

here's my idea, we can categorize the floor plans by area, Specifically the new builds like Cypress, OH, Stonegate, Woodbury, etc.  under each village list the homes and then it's floorplans.  I'm sure if we have everyone contribute we can categorize every new development in Irvine (Tustin ok).  We'll need a 'wiki' account though, a shared account where anyone can post/contribute to the master list.  We'll need to hide the IP addresses though...

@admin

Is that possible?  Or do we have a wiki post capabity like slickdeals?

If not we can designate one member to receive the floorplans and maintain/edit the list of homes.

Or we can abandon the whole list idea and just do a simple request for a floorplan by posting in this thread and whoever has it can respond?

If you make it wiki-like, where anyone can edit, someone can pull a TLONL.

Should make someone be the main... I nominate ps9... I don't think I can anger him enough to go Delete Mode.

So something like this as the Master List?

==================================================================
Orchard Hills

Messina by TRI Pointe Homes Plan 1 Floorplan

==================================================================

I guess this also runs the risk of the original poster modifying their posts and lead to a dead link.  Another way is to pdf the floorplans in each subsequent post as attachments in this thread and then link the post from the Master List?  Like this:

================================================================

Orchard Hills

Messina by TRI Pointe Homes Plan 2 Floorplan

La Vita by Brookfield Residential Plans 1-4 Floorplans

Stonegate

Sausalito by Shea Homes Plan 1 Floorplan

I've had a similar fantasy idea for such a website. But, I wouldn't limit mine to just Irvine. I'd love to see Google get into this; click on a dwelling on their maps site and get the floorplan. Nationwide.

That said, I've kept all my brochures over the years, from when I bought my first new home 13 years ago to my recent purchase of another home a couple years back, and my current continued visiting local new communities.

Also, add in downloadable price lists, site plans, etc. Basically all the information anyone has for each development.

NYT - It's been a fantasy for me too. Here is one of the wireframes I did years ago.
