The wife really wants to have a handheld shower head in the master shower (or all the showers to bath the kids for that matter) but I looked at the options for Carmel, and it costs $2700 to "Add 2nd Shower Head at Master Bath - Handheld in Brushed Nickel." Does that sound like a reasonable upgrade? Or should I be looking to make the upgrade after closing escrow?

Also for the master walk in closet, $308 to add mirrors to both side of the master closet door, and 4500+ to have built in "Master Bedroom Closet Organizer". Does those sound like worthwhile upgrades?

ooh second shower heads are fun. :)  not sure whether that price is reasonable as it wasn't offered as an option for my home and i've never looked into the cost.

the mirrors are comparable to prices i've seen (although i'm not getting them).

the closet organizers seem expensive.  have u tried calling a place like closetworld to get a comp?

We checked at home depot - the double mirrored closets run about $185 with similar setup for a wide door. You can probably get that upgrade post move-in if you want to save money.

The mirrored closet door seem not too bad.  You are saving only $120 if you do it yourself later on.

The shower head sounds like a lot.

How about something like this for $450

I think you can do better on the closet organizer after the COE.  That should be fairly simple to do later on.

I'm guessing it is so expensive because additional plumbing is involved on top of the material cost. The original design only has one shower head up top on the wall, I think with the additional handheld, they need to run one more pipe lower down to hook up the handheld. But should additional piping + material cost as much as $2700??

$2700 still seem like a lot.  Maybe you can call some plumbers around to find out how much it will cost later on.  Of course, it will also depend on what kind of shower surround you have and the possibilty of damage.

We want to let all irvine new home buyers know that Irvine Pacific design center did not and will not help their customers.  The floor we upgranded has squeaky/creaking noises.  They think it is normal.  We wanted their help to quiet the noises and they insisted it is normal and doing nothing.  My suggestion is "DO NOT USE IRVINE PACIFIC DESIGN CENTER" to do any upgrade.  You get all standard first in the new home, then you can hire contractor to upgrand.  It will save money and headache dealing with Irvine Pafici Design center people.  They are young and not experienced.  They gave bad advices.  They will lie and deny what they told you.

What type of flooring did they install for you?  Upstairs / downstairs?  Sounds to me like they didn't create a flat floor completely before flooring install.
