Vehicle had been parked there since Wednesday, neighbor says....
IRVINE ? <em>Fire officials this evening discovered the body of a man in a van parked at an Irvine food court.
Authorities have not identified the man or determined a cause of death, but police said there were no signs of foul play.
Orange County Fire Authority officials responding to an unrelated call in the 2500 block of Main Street first noticed the body as they walked through the parking lot just before 7 p.m.
The man is believed to be in his early to mid-40s, said Irvine police Lt. Rick Handfield. The body had no bumps, bruises or other signs of foul play, he said.
Irvine Police and coroners officials removed the body from the unmarked white van just after 8 p.m.
Police found identification in the vehicle, Handfield said, but no note or indication of how he died. The body was reportedly found slumped below the van's windows.
"Based on the condition of the victim, he had been there a little bit of time," Handfield said.
Jajil Haeri, an employee at nearby Main Street Pizza, said the van had been parked in front of the food court since last Wednesday.
"I even parked next to it Friday and looked through the back window, but there was a lot of junk, so I didn't see anything." Haeri said.
Other local workers said they didn't notice the van, which looked similar to delivery vans used by Main Street Pizza and neighbor Baja Fresh.
"I thought it was just a normal car," said Mahin Ghomi, an employee at the nearby Super Fun and Learning Center, who had parked her car directly in front of the van where the body was found on Monday.
