I'm going out of town for about 4 weeks and need to dispose of my trash a couple days before our normal trash day.  Is there any way to do this?  Or can I dispose of my big trash bags somewhere?

I don't want my trashcans stinking up my garage or sideyard for a whole month!  Thanks!

I would find a big dumpster and throw it in. First, I would try the dumpster behind your workplace. Secondly, the alley of your nearest shopping center.

Leave it out and have a neighbor drag it back in for you, that's what they're for :)

(maybe I shouldn't comment on trash cans, if you guys remember, haha)

If you ask for permission it's alright, but if you don't ask for permission it may be called illegal dumping.

Ask your neighbors kid to do it for you and give him/her a few bucks.  They will be thrilled.
If there are no kids around ask your neighbor and bring back candy/chocolate as thank-you

Some HOA won't allows homeowner to leave the trash can out for more than a day but the only thing the HOA is going to do for the first offense is probably just a warning letter.

Why not ask your neighbor if you can dump your trash at their trash can?

That's why I said to make his workplace the first attempt.

Hauling trash bags in your car?  Make sure the garbage juice/pruno is contained!

Another good point. Make sure you your trash bag(s) don't have liquids. Maybe double bag the trash bags?

Plus the odor of the trash bags, in your vehicle.

If you can't ask your neighbor, all those stereotypes of newer Irvine homeowners are true.

:)

(We recently took care of our neighbors mail for 2 weeks as they did for us previously)

It's easier to just put your mail on hold and have it delivered when you return.

We've done that before (usually with our newspapers) but 2 weeks of mail won't fit in the box sometimes, it's easier to have the neighbor do it. And I think you have to pick it up with the new smaller bank of mailboxes.

The postal carrier will deliver it to your doorstep in a big bin.

Be careful. Many shopping centers lock their dumpsters and/or have video cameras. Don't ask ask me how I know  ;)
