Driving on Sand Cany towards Portola

Hello All, I was driving on Driving on Sand Cany towards Portola and noticed in the mountains(little far away) saw some machines at work. That side of mountains looks either it is being cleared to make room for something or to stop land slides? Just curious what it is

It's decommissioned top secrete air force facility and rumor has it that a UFO was buried there.

Or you are looking at one of the largest landfill in California and ninth largest in the United State, the Frank R. Bowerman Landfill.

I posted a thread on this before. It's the landfill. I was wondering myself if they plan to put something unsightly, but as of now it's just stirring up questions. What's annoying now is all the dump trucks that are on sand canyon.

This is most likely where they are putting the methane plant.  Let's just hope they cover it in front with trees.

I'm still betting that methane plant ends up on the back side of the hill...I can't imagine Irvine would allow something like that to be visible from just about every residential neighborhood in the area (including newport).
