Does Redfin actually shows seller's purchase price???

<p>I am new to this.....does the last sales price on Redfin represent what the Sellers paid for their home? Why do some homes on the market have this information and some dont? If it really is the sellers purchase price, it can provide good insight as to how low they will actually go.</p>

Redfin's data is not complete, and it is not always accurate, but it is still pretty good. I do most of my research there.





As for how well it provides insight into the seller's price points, I think many sellers are greedy and clueless and living in the bubble years. Even if they have room to come down on the price, many will not want to "give it away."





To really get a handle on the sellers financial situation, you will need access to the property records to see what kind of debt they have on the property. Redfin doesn't have this information.
