Does anyone think rents will fall this spring?

Just wondering if anyone here sees signs of rents dropping significantly this spring/summer. I've noticed a few rentals in my neighborhood (University Park) that have sat around on the market for several months, but I'm not really seeing rates dropping. Anybody else noticing this in their area?

Yes.

I just had a meeting with many of my neighbors and found out they all are continuing to receive rent reductions upon renewal.

Rents have been falling pretty rapidly since October in pretty much all of Orange County. As long as the job picture stays the way it looks now, expect them to keep falling.

You mean like going from 1760 to 1550? No... i don't understand what you are trying to say....

Just wait till you have higher taxes for cars, gasoline, registeration and SCADS of unemployed people... yea... its that great.

Thank you. where do you usually find rent from owner? I am renting in a complex in HB, but I would like to move to Irvine this summer.

Look on craigslist.

I don't see listed rents falling. I'm still seeing the same rents in the same ballpark that I saw last autumn. Are you all negotiating your rents down?

i see falling rents on CL, more "free" weeks upfront, etc. also, remember that CL is "asking" rents. would you pay the "asking" price at a used car dealership?
