What's the overall quality of california closet and cabinet plus? Is there anyone who installed closet cabinet with them? There is about 10% difference in price considering california closet is doing promo, california closet is 10% more, for the same design.

Is installation of back sheet necessary?

I used plus for my garage. Good service average quality

I used another company for my closet. The backing is not necessarily even though it might show some walks that need work on them. Just paint and cover with clothes.

I just got my custom closet installed by Cabinet Plus.  Inc had referred me to this place and I am super impress.  Mulberry masterbed closets are super small, but the closet looks massive now after the install.  We completely decked out the closet and it wasn't cheap by any means but I think it was worth it.

I've also used Cabinet Plus earlier this year to install a Nook Cabinet and they converted my coat closet by the front door into a mudroom/sitting area for people to take off and store their shoes.

The back sheet isn't necessary, BUT, you should remove all standard closet gear and patch/paint the wall yourself. These closet guys will remove it, and do a rough patch, but they don't make it look nice, and they don't paint it.

We had Cabinet Plus do our master closet and garage cabinets in 2009. The only complaint I had was how terrible the patchwork was on the master closet wall. You never see it with clothes hanging, but you KNOW it's there.

Here's my master closet (from Cabinets Plus).  It's pretty big, it's an L shape and wraps all the way around.  I'm telling you this is actually not a bad investment.  When I was selling my condo I sat in on an open house for an hour and heard 3 out of 3 of the wives that came to look at my condo telling their husbands the closet was the nicest of all the houses they were looking at.  2 of them jokingly told the agent that they want the house just for the closet.

If you don't mind me asking, how much does something like that cost Aqua? Looks extremely nice.

Sure no problem - mine was a package deal from cabinets plus, I actually had them do my master closet, a built in (in my office), a built in media center (living room) and a shoe rack in my garage.  They gave me a discount (or so they always say, right) for doing all of these projects at once, but the closet portion came out to be about $5.3k if I remember correctly.

It costs more to take it all the way to the ceiling (which you should do because it makes your closet look way bigger), and also for the crown molding, glass doors, etc. so everything adds up but if you tell the designer your budget they can probably work with you.

Also if you do the dark wood *definitely* get the backing all the way around otherwise it looks cheap.  If you do the white it's probably fine not to get the backing.

My closet looks almost like this. Was your designer Claudia by chance?

Closet designs are very formulaic.  Closet World is always hiring "designers" with no experience necessary.

haha yes!  She's very eccentric and a bit spacey at times but she did a good job overall.  would use her again.
