Annette Walker, president of strategy at Providence St. Joseph Health and chief executive at St. Joseph Health, has been tapped to lead City of Hope?s expansion into Orange County. Beginning in July, Walker, as president of City of Hope Orange County, will direct the development of the $200 million cancer center. Tentative plans for the 18-acre campus include the 70,000-square-foot City of Hope cancer center as well as other medical facilities and a boutique hotel for patients and their families. It will be built on land donated by FivePoint Communities. City of Hope, based in Duarte, is a private, not-for-profit research and treatment center for cancer, diabetes and other life-threatening diseases. In the past five years, City of Hope has grown to 29 locations across Southern California.
