Christmas Shopping.... Who can has it?

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
Good going, Bix. I actually do my Christmas shopping throughout the year. When I come across something that I think someone will like I get it and save it for then. I like avoiding the hassle of doing it all at the last minute but even if there's something I have yet to get, I usually shop online now and just have it come to my door so I don't have to fight mall crowds especially during the holiday season.

Yeah, I have OCD.

I always have my holiday shopping completed by Halloween and wrapped by Thanksgiving.

It always me to enjoy the holidays without the stress of shopping with crowds.

I love to entertain during the holidays, so having this task all done is nice.

It all started when one year I got the flu during the holiday season. I was MISERABLE, especially knowing my shopping wasn't completed. I swore I would never be stressed out during the holidays again.

It has worked out very nicely.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only "crazy" one out there.

I've started, too, and a lot of it is done online. I try to have everything done by Thanksgiving because I'm not big on all the crowds after that.

Anyone cutting back on Christmas giving this year? With the economy being the way it is, I've heard speculation that spending will be a lot less this year for a lot of people and businesses will really see it. It will be interesting to see who goes out of business after the holidays.

I will be in London for Christmas so I will shop when I get there...the Shops and Lights are really nice that time of year...I just have to try and stay out of the Pubs because I always spend too much after a couple of Bevies haha! *hic*

I have to say I don't like how Christmas is taking over the winter season.

There are 2 other holidays BEFORE Christmas.

So in protest I wait till after Thanksgiving to do any Christmas shopping.

OMG! I don't even have my Halloween costume yet. How can I even begin to think about Christmas? Yeah... and I'm the nutter...

One of the other reasons is that the gifts are custom made jewerly. So I have to give the jeweler enought time order stuff, work on all the pieces and then get them ready and send them out. Its a bit of a haul to do so, but the outcome is pretty good.

Pffffttt....

No... custom. I have made some costume jewerly for my wife with some GIANT stones (Garnet/CZ/Zircon/Labradoite, etc.), but I have always used 14/18k gold for the mountings. That way if you want to upgrade to a semi-precious or precious stone you can.

In this case I am developing some nice moonstone pendants with three little diamonds (3x-10 pointers) at the top of the stone (marquis cut).

They are not as expensive at you think... maybe 350-400 each after everything was said and done. Last year I have moonstone earrings... so these will match.

Goodluck
