any suggestions how to fix this?

you can pick it up at the home depot at the tustin marketplace.

then just apply it and paint?

yeah let it dry, once dry, it will look like there was never an issue (other than the color doesnt match). once dry, paint it, as long as you can match the paint color you wont even be able to tell there was an issue.

The only thing is that the stucco on the exterior of our houses aren't painted. They use what's called "fog."
 
yeah most new construction homes use colored stucco, but when you have to repair it, unless you can find the same stucco, i dont think there is much of a choice.
