These people are serious, and they aren't joking. Incidentally, this property is a joke, but it's not funny for some reason.

I have profiled this property before too: <a href="http://www.irvinehousingblog.com/blog/comments/angel/">Angel</a>

At least now we have an idea how much their carrying costs are.

Since they probably have overimproved this property by 100%, I would estimate this would rent for $3,500 per month.

Does anyone know what kind of bamboo that is the front yard? Found the description a little funny too. Even if you were a fan of granite countertops, would you want them throughout the house or just in the kitchen and maybe the bath?

I had granite in the kitchen and the bathrooms, it just depends on the color that you use and what you use with it.

Is this the default option (like check a box or click from a drop down menu) or did they add the caps?

Always see this place when I go to Charo Chicken. Horrible location and it sticks out like a sore thumb. I don't understand why anyone would do this...

Agreed. Terrible location, terrible design. What were they thinking?

If Darwin's theory is correct, this dude should by all means be foreclosed on and never be allowed to develop commercial real estate again, and the home will be demolished and replaced by an empty lot with a swingset on it and a plaque on the ground dedicating the swingset with a big "We're sorry" from the HOA.

This house could use some signage.

that house always makes me laugh; everyone thinks it's an eyesore; and it is so close to that major retail center... I still don't know how they got away with it; the best feature of the house is the waterfall, absolutely fantastic...

yeah somewhere in that ballpark. Weird how he doesn't just cut his losses.

Like the old saying goes Pride comes before the fall.

I love the way they advertise that it is on .13 of an acre. I actually think "a measly 5,800 sq. ft. lot" sounds better.

I think they felt the location was a virtue. This place was always intended to be a Persian Palace. The richest and most pretentious person in the neighborhood can show off to everyone in the community by owning this house.

The Wholesome foods right by this place is heavily Persian. Even the magazines on the newsstand at the checkout are in Arabic (I think, I can't read it). Everyone who exits this shopping center stares right at this house when they leave. You can't avoid it. The King of the Castle can sit on his balcony drinking wine and looking down on the "little people" scurrying around the commercial center.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is a lot of interest in this house, but the price is so high that nobody can pay it. If they tried to sell it for $900,000, they could probably find a buyer. If they wait, that number will go down to about $650,000 before it finds a bottom. The funny part is that the old structure they renovated cost them $640,000 as I recall.
