Carbon monoxide

Sorry for this stupid question, but I don't know where the carbon monoxide detector is located in my home. Where does Irvine Pacific usually put the CO detectors and what do they look like?

mines near the intake vents for A/C, 1 upstairs and 1 downstairs.  Rectangular box for me.

They may have used a combo CO and smoke detector, in which case difficult to differentiate.

Thanks for the responses. I had to get on a step stool to look closely at all the smoke alarms and it turns out the one in the hall was a combo unit. It looks exactly like all the other smoke alarms, except it has some white on white embossed writing on it identifying the CO detector in it too. I love the way that manufacturer makes their units look indistinguishable.
