Are there any boxer lovers out there? I rescued two females from the Downey shelter last Friday. They were going to be put down because the boxer rescue refused them due to their age. Sadie is said to be 5-7 years old, but she is incredibly youthful. She has some gray in her face, but in excellent condition and full of vitality. Maggie is said to be 6-7. She is very mellow and sweet, but each day she has a bit more perkiness to her. She loves to walk and run.
They are both on medication for kennel cough and secondary infections, but will be done with that the middle of next week. Maggies was severely undernourished and is gaining weight each day, but will probably not be ready to be spayed next week when Sadie will be fixed. I can keep her a bit longer, but really need to find a home for Sadie, even a foster home for now. She is a good dog, but my husband really doesn't want one dog, much less two. She will have all her shots, be spayed and comes with a micro chip.
Sadie loves to be around people, the more the better and she loves kids. She is petite for a boxer. 55 lbs is about her ideal weight. She needs some discipline, but doesn't do anything terrible. She gets really excited some times, but will calm down when firmly told to do so. She is learning to sit and has learned not to get up on the furniture and several other boundaries.
If anyone is interested in fostering or adopting either of these two great dogs, please let me know
