I saw this a few months ago when I went to Lee Sandwiches and wondered what it was... so we ate there last night. Turns out it's like Subway (or Chipotle) but for pizzas.

Basically you line up and tell them what to put on your pizza and they "fast fire" bake it and it's done in less than 5 minutes (at least for us). It took longer for us to wait in line to order than to get our pizza.

They have preset configurations or you can build your own with a combination of any 3 meat or cheeses and then unlimited veggie toppings... for $6.85 (a simple pie, only cheese and sauce is $5.00). I think it's a 10-12 size pie... but it's only thin crust (which is why they can cook it so fast).

It was actually pretty good and if you compare it to a place like CPK, it's half the cost. They also have these s'mores cookies you can buy for dessert, they can heat them up and they are yummy... but a little high priced at $2.50 each.

I hear there is a new Chicago's style pizza in Costa Mesa... Rance's Chicago Pizza... we are probably going to check it out this weekend.

After a few more visits, we really like Blaze Pizza.

The crust, the cheese and the toppings are really good. I only wish they had sliced tomatoes instead of just cherry tomatoes. And they should add Canadian Bacon (otherwise known as "ham") to their meats.

Hadn't been here in a while and on a recent visit, they have changed their menu a little.

The Build Your Own is now $7.45 but you can add any number of meats or cheeses you want (it used to be a combination of three). I think this was a good move because it cuts down on the confusion.

They also added a One Top pizza, basically a pizza with one topping for $5.85. The Simple Pie (a cheese pizza) is still $5.00.

In addition to the change in prices, it looks like they added a white sauce (sort of like Alfredo sauce), steak and ham as their meats.

Went here yesterday, been quite a few months... this is really the best of all the BYO fast pizza places, in our opinion.

I think it's because the crust, sauce and cheese is not as salty as the others.

Plus, Berkeley Dog (they have a corned beef hash hot dog) and Snowflakez (Taiwanese shaved ice) are next door.

I was at Blaze the other day and saw that Slapfish is going there.  Has anyone been to the Laguna location?  Is it good?

I can't 'cause the Search feature on TI has been broken for me for a while now. (Anyone else?) Even just a simple, basic search. If it's important enough, I have to improvise by using Google to search TI and quoting everything out, which is more time-consuming. That's usually too much, so I just do the best with what I have.
