My little one is a picky eater, so changing the line up is important.  Kid's meals from restaurants seems to do the trick.. but picking a semi-healthy one is hard.  This is for all the hard working full time Irvine non-cooking parents paying MR with a picky eater... So my nominee for the best kid's meal in Irvine is

Curry House's chicken teriyaki kids meal..

$5.50 and you get white meat chicken with decent teriyaki sauce, rice, corn, fried shrimp, french fries, corn soup, slice of orange (or melon), and of course a gender based toy..  for the price it is quite a big portion, and if i'm semi hungry can feed both my kid and myself.  Call ahead as they do get bum rushed at lunch and dinner.  I know it's easier to get a Happy Meal but quality is better at Curry House (have you ever tried leftover McDonald's?, disgusting, and that does tell alot about the quality of ingredients).

thats a tough one for me.. tried the veggie grill?  out of area for me..  wheel of life?  but i don't think little ones will understand what soy chicken is..

doesnt have to be fully vegetarian...the curry house didnt seem like a veg friendly place.

we also do the food court inside of whole foods often with the baby.  lots of soups and easy food like mac & cheese

You know what I don't like... when Kid's Meals don't include a drink or don't do refills. It's not like my kids are going to drink their establishment dry.

Like at IHOP... if you order juice for the kids... you have to pay for refills. Or at Wood Ranch BBQ, if you order soda it's free with free refills, but if you order lemonade or apple juice it's $1 extra and you have to pay for refills.

What I do like is when a kid's meal includes both a drink and small dessert. That's how you get parents to eat at a place more... like The Daily Grill... the kid's meal is only $5 and it includes a drink and either an ice cream sandwich or a Drumstick.

That's weird. I can't ever recall a time we were charged for kids' refills! We've been to IHOP many times. Haven't tried W.R. BBQ, though.
