Irvine housing market is not bottomed yet, still long way to go. Seems like a better alternative is to go into one of the auctions and get a good deal out of it. Can anyone explain the risks associated with auctions? What one needs to be awared of before going there? Thanks.

Sorry, Guys! I am new to the blog. I've briefly read the Forclosure Thread this morning. But it doesn't seem to mention how I can check the property details (such as # of bedrooms, baths, sqaure footage, etc)for the properties being auctioned. Is there any website I can look into? How about the lien and loan history? I know you've mentioned about recorder's office. Do I have to go the office in person to obtain all the info? It seems to me that as long as you have enough cash to bid, and as long as the title of the house is clean, and if the house is fairly new, then the risk is very small? Am I missing anything here? Thanks.

Don't worry about it Hunter. Any of those folks with over a thousand posts are grouchy and a bit nutty to boot.
