Art Classes

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
We have used Mission Renaissance in Woodbridge, they are good but they are pricey.

But it's the one thing my kids have stuck with and really like over swimming, ballet, soccer etc.

If someone has a less expensive alternative... I'd like to know also.

i know orchepia in UCI area has art classes as well as Aspire Art on jeffrey but don't know if any of those are good.

My girls go to "Art Lessons by Cindy".  www.artlessonsbycindy.com

My wife takes them there so I don't monitor the classes (so I can't vouch for the quality) but one thing is that the fee is very reasonable at $33/month.  One of my daughters won a month trial at that other art class in Woodbridge but since I have three kids, I can't afford $170/mo. for each of my kids.

My daughter that took the trial at Woodbridge said she liked it since there were more teachers per student.  I think this person Cindy teaches a class of 8 to 10 students (don't know exactly how many) by herself.  If your kid is very serious (or older kid) about the art classes, the additional cost might be justified.  But we're just trying to find out what interests our kids so I can't justify the costs right now.

They seem to have fun at Cindy's so that's all I'm looking for right now.

I believe my cousin mentioned this one too (not sure but she did say it was a lady in Lake Forest).

I'll check it out... thanks.

@kabli: Did you ever find one?

We're still looking for a more affordable art class.

we just went with aspire art on jeffrey. approx 1 teacher to 4-5 kids. so far so good.

Yeah... I saw that Irvine PDF but the Tuition Fees are blanked out.

I guess I'll have to go old school and call them... they don't even have a contact email on their website.

Did you ever find an art class for your kids?
We substituted music class for art class... they are taking voice lessons in the tradition of the Von Trapps. :)

We bought them a ton of art supplies to make up for it, paints, pencils, pastels and modeling clay. The other night one kid made a painted clay model of a dog, the other a zombie robot... heh.

Might enroll them in an art program over the summer, they did learn quite a few things from it. They (Renaissance in Woodbridge) still call me every now and again to re-enroll.

Our kid used to go to Da Vinci Studio on the corner of Trabuco and Yale for 2 hours/week. The fees were $150/month. The group size is small, and the teacher was in the know about what art related projects happening at the school (for eg. Yearbook covers, Tshirt design contests) so she would cover those in the class as well.
