Hi,

I guess good problem to have but just wondering if anyone had any insights.  We just moved from a rental in Westpark to our own place in Quail Hill.  Our son just finished Kinder at Plaza Vista.  Now our home school is Alderwood which is walking distance away.

Plaza Vista is K-8 and year round.  Alderwood is traditional schedule and K-6.  We're kinda torn as to which school to send him to.  The school rankings seem similar.  The real considerations would be K-8 vs K-6 and the year round schedule vs not and convenience.  Also the fact that our son is familiar with and has made friends at Plaza Vista.  I'm not sure if a traditional junior high or K-8 middle school arrangment is better.  Our home junior high would be Rancho.

Any thoughts?  We're probably overthinking this but can't help trying to figure out what's best for the kids.

Thanks.

From generalized knowledge, Alderwood is a tad better than Plaza Vista.

We had once considered Plaza Vista but were concerned about the fact there are older kids and the year round schedule was not very convenient for us.

The convenience alone (to me) makes Alderwood a better choice than Plaza Vista and you usually want your kids to go to the school that your neighborhood kids go to. But it gets less convenient in middle school as you have to drive to Rancho but that's still closer than Plaza Vista.

Thanks for your input, helpful advice.  We are most likely going to send our son to Alderwood.

Knowing what we know now-  I would encourage everyone to attend their home school-  it makes a significant difference in the social aspect of your child's school years ( and coordinating play dates so much easier!).
