I dont know how you guys deal with them. Looking to find an apt in irvine area, see some listing on MLS. Every agent i try to get a hold of is a nightmare. Leave messages, they dont call you back. When you do get a hold of someone they act like they are too busy for you. When you finally get something going takes forever for the agent to process your app, call you back etc. I honestly dont know how you guys deal with it. I dont know if its because they hand out agency cards out of kinkos, or lack of english speaking skills or what but this is seriously ridiculous. Id rather just pay more and deal with Irvine Company or something although they are crooks, at least they run a decent business

/end rant

Agents make such a small amount of money on rentals that they don't want to do it. The better ones know it is part of building relationships and will take the time. You would think the starving ones would like the business even if its peanuts.

Funny thing is most of the agents that list the places i wanted to check out only have a few properties listed, so i dont really see it as peanuts. And to add to the fact that most of them are over 60 days on the market you wonder why. Id think for properties, esp near a college campus, they would be somewhat willing. To add to the fact that pictures are horrible, descriptions are off, and half the time the address isnt even listen, i could do a better job on my cellphone.

The agents are having a hard time getting back to you becuase they're busy toiling away at their new 8-5 W2 gigs like the rest of us schmucks.

djnick....if you need help try OCRentals. I have used them several times to pull listings in a certain areas that are within my price range and they typically do a very good job getting back to you through email or phone.
