I want to know if anyone has experience with rainbow rising at northwood elementary. Do you know if  they have homework assistance? My son will start first grade fall 2014 and I am a full time working mom. He went to a private kindergarten school and we decided to put him in our public school. I was debating between iPac heritage park vs rainbow rising.

Rainbow Rising is fabulous.  IUSD schools are unique in that the on site after school programs that are jointly overseen by both city and school district officials.  Each school gets surprise visits by volunteers ensuring that the standards here in Irvine meet and exceed state licensing requirements and are maintaining high quality.  Here is a link to read more: http://cityofirvine.org/cityhall/cs/childcare/iccp/default.asp

That said, the city programs provide transportation to city after school programs and are excellent.  Personal opinion is that on site, if room, is better for the younger children.

Thanks for the input regarding rainbow rising. Do you know how many students are at the Northwood rainbow rising program?

No idea but just call.  They all have summer programs too plus the city has some as well as places like camp James.

Anyone familiar with the Kids Stuff afterschool programs at Brywood and Santiago Hill Elementary?  There's only 2 locations and not much information on it.  Trying to decide if I need to find another after school program.

It's usually best to go with the after school care that services the school your child is in.

I would visit them in person and talk to the person in charge to get a feel of what kind of staff they have.

My son is in 1st grade and goes to Rainbow... Their homework club is great... I am a working mom and it really helps me out since I pick him up at 5:30.

Hello,

I realize this topic is old, but I am a current stay at home mom offering after school care, homework help, and tutoring for school age children in the Irvine area. I can also pick up your child from school. I have about 20 years of experience working with students from age 5 and up. I studied early childhood education in my undergrad and have a Masters in Education from USC. I worked as an elementary through high school teacher prior to deciding to stay home with my new baby (now toddler). I'm also CPR/first aid trained and have a clean driving record.

This will be for a very small group. Possibly only two or three children. Please contact through email for any further questions or a possible consultation.

Thank you,
Connie

Hi Connie,

DEJA VU! I just read this post in the other thread:http://www.talkirvine.com/index.php/topic,11611.0.html

Please note that copy/pasting the same message on 2 threads soliciting for business makes you look lazy.  Are you lazy Connie?
