advice on how to research irvine homes?

i live in Fountain Valley now and want to start looking at irvine homes. We're in our thirties, no kids yet, looking for something under 600k, and SFR, preferibly not too old. Not buying now but i want to wait and hopefully buy end of this year. What advice can you give me in terms of where in irvine to live? there are many zipcodes in irvine and i dont know that much about the area except that they are nice places to raise family..etc. where would you recommend to look at? any sites dedicated to just irvine comps, median prices, etc ?



also can someone recommend a good realtor in the irvine area? thanks

Wow, I suspect those on this board could go on for pages and pages with regards to your question. What is the oldest home you would consider? That will eliminate some Irvine areas...

i haven't seen any houses in irvine area but it depends on the condition of the house and if there are any upgrades? i think in general i prefer homes newer than 1970s....
