I was reading this http://www.bikeradar.com/beginners/news/article/cycle-friendly-20mph-limit-for-london-14151 Article on Bike Radar and was wondering how it would go down in Irvine?

To save you some reading, basically, Mayor of London Ken Livingstone is backing an idea that they have a blanket 20mph speed limit in London...I assume he means the City of London, which is only one mile square, not greater london?

Of course, this would mean that those annoying Drivers in Irvine who use Cell Phones whilst driving would have to speed up a little, but what do you think?

Would a 20mph speed limit work in Irvine?

?

20mph will definately not work. It is designed for people to barrel down the roads at 50mph+. Having a 20mph will make it take so long to go anywhere. There is so much things compacted in 1 sq mile in city of london but 1 square mile of irvine contains absolutely nothing ;P

Knowing Ken Livingstone I suspect he would not be limited to central London but would extend as far as the current congestion charges covers (inc west of London - Kensington)

You mean it doesn't already? Between the wonderful synchronization of the signals and cell phone talkers, it sure seems that way to me.

I own two cars that make over 400 whp. Thus, I will politely have to recuse myself from this discussion. BUT I must say, that people here already drive retardardely slow, why subject us to even more pain and torture.

bix

That is the reason I got out of high hp street cars and raced for 10 years. Nothing to do with 400 hp on the street but burn fuel and add to pollution!!

Oh yea, and piss off Trooper.

Do you ever do open track days?

Enjoy!
