I grew up in San Luis Obispo. My parents moved to Irvine after retiring to accomplish a few things: 1. a new house, which they always wanted, 2. a main-floor bedroom, 3. access to better healthcare, 4. closer to family.
San Luis Obispo and the surrounding area are among the nicest in...
Eastwood's smallest home, Avalon Plan 1, is in escrow for $1.088m: https://www.redfin.com/CA/Irvine/109-Superior-92620/home/167406045
Pretty insane that a 2bd/2ba in Irvine is going for $1m+.
The HOA's are separate but likely managed by the same management company. But, it's basically 2 separate HOA's. You'll get separate monthly bills, newsletters, notices, budgets, etc.
Cerritos has a good food scene and is located in a nice spot to access LA - OC. Library is super nice as well. The city is definitely aging though. The city doesn't invest in upkeep like Irvine does.
I heard ROL Hand Roll Bar by Kei Concepts will be opening in the former Wheel of Life vegan restaurant sometime this summer. I'm looking forward to this...the ROL in fountain valley is quite good.
Kiyo and Izakaya Osen are my go-to's for sushi. Their lunch specials are great.
I don't like steak at restaurants. I can do them better at home on the charcoal grill or on a cast iron.
It's been reported that he has 2 opt-outs after year 6 and year 8. If he produces, it's likely he will opt-out after year 6 at age 31 and sign another long-term deal.
All TUSD green schools will be open for instruction except Hicks Canyon Elementary. Wonder what the hold-up is there...maybe they had to clean some debris.
I am on Reddit but I didn't post the same thing there. Most of my responses on reddit are much shorter due to the fact I use it primarily on my phone. T.I. I use on my laptop so it's easier to type longer responses.
They provided all this information on Day 1 as to why the strategy to do a controlled burn was the best path forward:
The building was already unstable to begin with. The fire only further jeopardized it. Having firefighters out there where the building can fall on them at any time is unsafe...
I read the incident report. Sounds like the concern is the flare-ups causing new debris in the immediate area. I'm guessing that TUSD doesn't want to clean the schools only to have to clean them again. And for whatever reason, they can't go virtual for some schools and keep others open as usual...
The plan was always to let it burn. On Tuesday, OCFA said in one of their first press conferences that letting it burn is the best path forward, primarily because it's unsafe for firefighters to enter the structure as it can collapse at any time. As long as the fire is under control as it is...
Yeah, I just thought closing all schools was an overreach. Keeping Legacy Magnet closed was smart. But closing Beckman, Orchard Hills, Myford, and other schools on that side didn't make much sense to me.
