Why Do the Chinese Love Irvine?

I'm good. I don't need any insights. I know what I have experienced. I will say, it is ONE specific demographic that behaves this way. It's not Koreans, Japanese, Indians, or Singaporeans. You can probably deduce who is left.

Newer Irvine listings with crazy WTF asking prices from equity sellers

Well, in 1995-1999 we were in high school/college and from 2011 to 2015, we were temporarily stationed in VA with the military. When we came back in 2015, 3br/2bath houses were selling for around $750,000+ and we didn't have the income to support that mortgage then as a single earner military...

Because it was specifically training in dealing with small explosives. Likely grenades or similar.

Thank you for doing that. We are a military family and it is SO hard to use a VA loan in Irvine to buy a resale. My husband retired from the military in 2023 and we hope to one day be able to buy a home using his VA loan benefit, but I feel like new construction will be our only hope. It's good...

    Explosion in FBI Training Facility

What risk would there be to area homeowners? They aren't using large explosives at a training facility. Someone screwed up here with handling live munitions inside a building.

They don't. They rent. We aren't a young couple anymore, we are 45 with 2 "adult" (legally, as of this weekend) children still living at home. We have to rent, because without a massive down payment which we don't yet have, we can't afford to buy a suitable home here. We have been renting...

    What is reasonable here?

As predicted, she showed me listings that were between $4400 and $5400. And then SHE asked me to name my range. I said $4000-4200 is our limit for this particular unit. She said she could not go lower than $4200. I let her have that. The Zestimate is currently $4900 for our place. I feel like...

Yes, I seriously am. They aren't all condos. A SFR is a standalone home with its own 4 walls, no? Here you go. https://redf.in/UJqOh9 https://redf.in/7633QM

Nope. There are a few listings in Great Park. Plus several new builds over there around that size and priced well under $2M. Solis park has homes almost 3,000 sq ft for about $1.6M.

There are several over in the Great Park. Some are new construction, some are resales. Here is one: https://redf.in/WVmRoQ

Am I missing something? What justifies the price of this home? It doesn't have amazing views or a huge yard. Why is it priced like $750k over similar homes elsewhere in Irvine?

    What is reasonable here?

I didn't open it, but it was a home mortgage company, addressed to my landlord and her husband and appeared to be a statement.

    What is reasonable here?

She has a mortgage, as far as I know. We received the statements for a few months until they changed the mailing address.
