    Economy and Climate Change

Try to wok on one. I love clean air. Big fan. Here’s the kicker, cooking with a gas cooktop if you don’t use good venting, can raise indoor air quality above acceptable outdoor target levels. Ironically, cooking on an electric cooktop isn’t much better. yep, outside air targets are cleaning...

    Economy and Climate Change

Gas stoves if you're concerned about indoor air pollution causing health effects might increase PM and NO2. As for green house gases, all the gas cook tops in the USA produce roughly 500,000 cars worth. We currently have close to 300 Million cars being used in the USA.

    Modern refrigerators in older homes

We live in an older home and are looking to replace our refrigerator. The side by side we bought just before the pandemic just isn't working out and we want to go back to the French Door w/ bottom freezer. We'd like the newer features like four door, flex drawer, etc, but it seems like there's...

Poll: Irvine Housing Prediction June 2022

Even as a fixer, something odd with an SFR going for $508/sf in March. Based on sales history, prior sale looks flakey back in 1979, perhaps an estate sale to a flopper who now just wants to cut bait?

    Congress Elections

Sure, after they do a couple relapses and maybe get a four year sober chip. Their core message is total crap these days. Every regulation is bad. Every tax is bad. Hand outs for large corporations. They have zero policy ideas.

    Short Vegas trip & report

Ironically I think Vegas was more equitable and enjoyable when it was run by the mob instead of the corporations now.

    Oil

No, it’s oligopolies with barriers to entry. Same problem as the deregulated energy market when companies figured out an unplanned emergency “maintence” created more profit than producing. Those barriers though are breathing or not.

    Short Vegas trip & report

Hired a cleaning crew to do final move in/move out cleaning of the rental. Didn't want to deal with the sneaker net, know someone, cash thing, so called many services. Getting call backs was like having contractors call you back for a smaller job, maybe 1 in 6 responded. Going rate from any...

    coronavirus

I'm a little curious why 150 getting crushed remains news while 175 getting crushed and drowned by a 50 foot drop to the river from the collapsing pedestrian bridge barely gets a mention?

    ICE or EV?

The good news is you won’t hear the tinnitus until you are in the hospital from the heart attack the freeway noise gives you. Provided you survive. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5898791/ https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34900282/

    ICE or EV?

That black dust isn't from propane. It's combination rubber and carbon from the freeways. Overnight drift of freeway pollution ranges about a mile from freeway/main road (think Jamboree/Culver/Jeffery) Oops, did I just point out Irvine is grid based on major roads spread one mile apart.

Paypal considered deducting $2500 from customer bank accounts for misinformation

No, people are cancelling their own payments.  All platforms practice de platforming groups that are viewed as problematic. Interesting thought exercise, it?s 1930, Germany, the internet, Twitter, PayPal and Facebook exist. What are the appropriate interventions those companies should use with...
